Great entry level position into great company, which no longer exists.

Three years into the role, we were contracted-out to HP. The job and the environment has been on a steady decline since then. After 4 years with HP I was handed a pink-slip.

Great profitsharing

If you are not in marketing you don't matter. If they could get their products made cheaper elsewhere they would be gone in a flash.

I like especially because of the people. Great guys, great atmosphere.

P&G could have taken a better care of their employees in terms of perks...

Looking back at '99-'00, everyone in the learning industry claimed to be AICC compliant. This only meant that they could possibly communicate in AICC if they ever really wanted to. Procter & Gamble's (P&G) decision to go with Lectora was pretty simple. Lectora is built by Trivantis and based out of Cincinnati -- the same central location as P&G. The irony of it all is the Lectora staff is retired P&G employees. They created a tool that was the first to possess the ability to show it communicated past a score to SABA. P&G's response? "That's awesome." Many tools out there are decreasing in complexity. However, this authoring tool is simple enough that self-sufficient authors can be trained on it. They are able to bring in people to create web-based training from one businessperson to another right off the bat, and it has continued to maintain that simplicity over time. The reasons P&G chose to go with Lectora are five-fold: 1. Standard...

Augusta, GA- Augusta is one of the best places in the country to do business! A great diversity of companies make their home here, including: Procter and Gamble, Kellogg’s International Paper, NutraSweet, E-Z-GO Textron and Fort Gordon, an army signal school with a workforce of more than 46-hundred civilian employees and more than 12-thousand soldiers. In addition, Augusta’s medical community employs more than 25-thousand people. Forbes Magazine rated Augusta nineteenth out of 150 metropolitan areas as being one of the lowest cost places to do business based on the price of labor, energy, taxes, and office space. Located in the east central section of the state, Augusta is approximately 120 miles east of Atlanta and 70 miles west of Columbia, South Carolina on I-20… and has its own airport . We recognize that a skilled, highly educated workforce is critical to the success of any business. That’s why we consider ourselves fortunate...

Technological change tends to introduce many new systems that require specialized skills and understanding of each process. In order to get the most out of these systems, learning must be rapid and precise when it comes to timing and content. To address this issue, P&G developed a learning philosophy called surgical learning. The concept of surgical learning is easy: get in, get exactly what you need, and get out as fast as possible. This philosophy centers on four variables that are essential to being successful with surgical learning: - Simple - Reliable - Content of value - Whoever learns the fastest, wins For example, if an employee wants to do a Pivot table, then teach them how to do a Pivot table and not an entire Excel course. If a worker is only interested in the process of ordering a part, then they only need to learn how to order the part not the philosophy of SAP. This reduces the time spent in training and mirrors a just-in-time learning...

  • Proctor & Gamble- The Wow Factor

Proctor & Gamble- The Wow Factor

Today we are training kids for (1) jobs that do not exist, (2) technologies that have not been invented yet, and (3) for problems we do not know what they are going to be. The real key is to make sure companies have the quickest way for people to learn -- or relearn -- how to excel at their job. Some companies go off to create courses based on the WOW factor hoping this will help employees learn what they need. When comparing WOW vs. the content of value, there are three equations that arise: 1. High WOW Factor + high content of value = Respect 2. Low WOW Factor + high content of value = Forgiveness because needs were met 3. High WOW Factor + low content of value = Angry and frustrated individuals Creating a high content value with a high WOW Factor course is all about putting yourself in the other person's shoes. This will allow you to find the most effective and efficient way to deliver material so students...
