Disco or Cisco China

Big name

Mafia-alike senior management team in China. All key positions are filled by ex-DEC China staff incl. the president of Cisco China. Cisco China should be re-named as "D"isco China.

Good vision that fits well with changes in the industry. There's a lot of great people who are experts at what they do and are usually willing to let you pick their brains.

Shaping the company to fit the company vision forces team merges which create incompatible processes and politics between merging teams. Asset allocation continuously become a problem as resources are moved and timelines are always too short. Although Cisco is a communications company, it fails to communicate well within itself.

The work environment is great and inside the team is even better. Nice projects. Good career development, and in case of bad experience we always can try a different role inside the company.

Some bad managers only looking to numbers and been involved with the team. You must be a politician and advertise your work. A good politician Engineer archive more than a hard work Engineer. We need to make pressure to get a salary increase, because company don't do it by it self.

Good Company, Lot of different roles and oppurtunities to jump to in case u feel the job sucks.

Few business units really really suck in terms of carreer or job satisfaction...Learn from insider information who is leading the team..bad managers can really break ur career

It is dynamic and we are doing some really interesting things. Cisco is having an effect on all aspects from business to personal life. I like coming to work.

It has become an very large organisation and hence becomes more bureacratic

Great place to work. Everyone is a contributor to the company. Very team oriented and everyone is always willing to help you out. Good balance between work and life.

Very dynamic environment. Hard to get used to the year to year changes. Difficult to get into a rythmn.

I like the visionary thinking

Cisco is a leader in most of it's LOBs. It is a major market driver and probably the company with the greatest impact on our today's networks.
Chambers (CEO) is a real leader and a true visioner.

Compensation should be a bit more aligned with the other mega size companies Cisco competes with.
